The Springs Resort is gearing up for its 8th Annual Pints, Pools, and Paddles event, which will take place from Friday, May 12th, to Sunday, May 14th. Gathering the community for fun and purpose, this cherished spring festival is an occasion to give back locally.

About Pints, Pools, and Paddles
Pints, Pools, and Paddles features unlimited tastings from over two dozen regional and highly-favored craft brewers, with a unique twist this year – a new batch of wellness-focused craft beverages. In addition, guests can indulge in a Beer, Cheese, and Chocolate Pairing special event offered by Riff Raff Brewing Company.

Pints, Pools & Paddles isn’t your average craft beer festival. What makes this event stand out from the usual craft brew fest is what comes before the tasting: guests immerse themselves in Pagosa’s geothermal springs while watching the annual whitewater races along the riverfront.

This festival not only provides an unforgettable experience for attendees from near and far, but also supports two worthy local causes.

Friends of the Upper San Juan River
First, Friends of the Upper San Juan River, a Pagosa Springs non-profit organization that promotes environmentally sound, socially beneficial, and economically prosperous management of The Upper San Juan River and Pagosa Springs’ community parks through education, recreation, and environmental awareness.

Jenny Highum, president of Friends of the Upper San Juan River, explains that the organization is an all-volunteer organization that was created in 2005.

“Every year we work to be better stewards of our local river, parks and environment; while having fun and encouraging others to do the same,” she points out. “We have spent countless hours volunteering river clean ups as well as we successfully promoted and supported The Great Outdoors San Juan River Public Access Project which is a collaboration of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife and Upper San Juan Watershed Enhancement Partnership.”

The Springs Resort has pledged a $1,000 donation to Friends of the Upper San Juan River to support the event and organization initiatives. Additionally, the resort is extending its support by offering all competition participants complimentary soaking passes during the event.

Pueblo Community College Scholars
Second, The Springs Resort is donating its event proceeds to a general scholarship fund for students at Pueblo Community College for the second year in a row. This donation provides opportunities and resources for Archuleta County’s future workforce through education.

Last year, The Springs Resort donated $1,000 towards a PCC scholarship fund for programs in high need for the future workforce. This year, the resort is taking it a step further by contributing towards a general scholarship fund, allowing more students to access higher education and training programs.
