Fall & Winter Activities

Fall is soaking season in Pagosa Springs.  Enjoy our warm healing water mixed with the cool mountain air as the season changes, blanketing the mountains in hues of red and gold of the aspen leaves.   Colorfest is an exciting fall activity filled with food, drink and hot air balloons.  Celebrate Pagosa’s Southwestern heritage with the Mountain Chile Cha Cha, a celebration of green chile, beer and good music.  If you’re looking for fitness, the Cha Cha also provides a 5k, 10k and 1/2 marathon, all in the heart of downtown.  If hot springs are what you are seeking, don’t miss the Pagosa Hot Springs Fest where we celebrate everything hot spring and include many health and wellness activities such as aqua yoga, forest bathing hikes and guided meditation.

Winter provides snowy, steamy soaks sure to soothe your body after a day on the slopes at Wolf Creek Ski Area or from a day exploring on snowshoes, cross country skis, or even on a dogsled. For some high speed fun, rent a snowmobile and zip around the forest experiencing the back country.   If you like organized adventures, The Frozen Foot Fiesta is a fun winter festival that includes a snowy fat tire bike race, a 5k run, Logger-palooza lumberjack competition and the Frozen Foot Bonfire!

Spring & Summer Activities

As the weather warms the mountains transform.  Spring snow melt cause rivers to rage and waterfalls to thunder in the forest.  Wildlife emerges and new life abounds everywhere.  Trees begin to bud and wildflowers bloom in the sunny springtime and by summer the soaking pool area is blanketed with hollyhocks, daffodils, and daisies in every color.

Make the most of daylight rafting, kayaking, mountain biking or paddle boarding. Trek along forest trails, discover ancient ruins,  or take a scenic ride on an ATV.  Begin and end all your adventures with a soothing soak to soothe the body and the mind.
