Guided Geothermal Wetland Tour
Location: Meet at the Mother Spring Patio
Time: Wednesday at 9:00 AM – 10:00 AM
Discover the hidden beauty of Pagosa Springs through a guided walk along the unique geothermal wetlands and Riverwalk. This immersive one-hour experience explores the natural connection between the San Juan River, the geothermal springs, and the thriving wetland ecosystem that makes this area so rare.
Fed in part by the mineral-rich geothermal waters of the Springs, these protected wetlands create a year-round refuge for wildlife and migratory birds. Along the walk, guests may spot great blue herons, teal ducks, mergansers, swallows, and other native and migratory species while learning about the ecological importance of the wetlands and their connection to Pagosa’s healing waters.
This gentle guided experience invites guests to slow down, observe, and reconnect with nature through mindful exploration along the river.
Please note: Hikes may be catered to meet the needs of each specific group. Please wear hiking attire. You may want to dress in layers as the weather may change at any moment.
